Zabaykalsky Division

The Trans-Baikal Division comprises Bystrinsky GOK. The plant came online in 2019, ramping up to design capacity in 2020. This is the largest greenfield project in the Russian metals industry.

Mining production

The Trans-Baikal Division mines gold-iron-copper ores of the Bystrinskoye deposit. Nornickel also holds licences for geological exploration of areas adjacent to the Bystrinsko-Shirinskoye deposit.

Upstream facilities
Bystrinskoye deposit

The deposit is developed through open-pit mining at two mines, Verkhneildikansky and Bystrinsky-2, with the Medny Chainik and Yuzhno-Rodstvenny open pit mines to be commissioned in 2030.

Concentration

The mined ores are processed at Bystrinsky Concentrator into copper, iron ore, and gold concentrates.

The key processing stages include crushing, milling, flotation, thickening, filtration, and end product packaging. The concentrator has two processing lines.

Copper and iron ore concentrates are sold via third parties, while gold concentrates are further processed at the Polar Division.
