Moscow, January 30 — Nornickel has announced new senior management appointments within its Strategy and Business Development and Capital Investment units.

Maxim Sharov has been appointed Vice President and Head of Strategy and Business Development. A Nornickel veteran since 2008, Sharov has previously focused on strategic planning and investment analysis.

In his new role, Mr. Sharov will be responsible for Nornickel’s unified corporate strategy, strategic analysis of markets and the competitive landscape, and macroeconomic forecasting. His responsibilities will also include shaping the medium and long-term investment program, improving the investment process, identifying and analyzing business development opportunities in Russia and abroad, and managing organizational efficiency.

Sergey Lipin has been appointed Vice President for Capital Construction. Mr. Lipin will manage Nornickel’s major investment projects and efficiency in capital construction activities. Mr. Lipin has been with Nornickel since 2007, as part the company’s energy subsidiary, Norilsk-Taimyr Energy Company (NTEC).
