Nornickel continues to strengthen its position as a responsible producer of metals essential for the green transition and reaffirms its commitment to its long-term sustainable development strategy.

Moscow, 26 May 2025 — Nornickel has published its 2024 Sustainability Report. The document details the Company’s significant efforts and achievements in the key areas of environmental responsibility, social investment, and corporate governance.

In 2024, Nornickel's spending on sustainability-related projects reached RUB 374 billion, or 32% of the Company's annual revenue according to its consolidated financial statements.

Social responsibility and employee care remain a priority for Nornickel. In 2024, the Company achieved an all-time low in workplace fatalities with three incidents, while the Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) was 0.64, in line with the global mining industry average.

The Company improved social and living conditions for 11,800 employees by completing major renovations at 187 social and amenity facilities.

Wages were indexed by 10%, and the average monthly salary of RUB 207,000 is 2.1 times higher than the national average.

In environmental protection, Nornickel has made significant strides. The Company fully met its commitments under the Sulphur programme, recovering 390,000 tonnes of sulphur dioxide in the reporting year. The recovery rate in the processing chain exceeded 99%. These measures contributed to a 23.5% reduction in pollutant emissions.

The Company continued its large-scale "Clean Norilsk" cleanup programme. Cumulatively, 406 buildings have been dismantled, 1.1 million tonnes of waste and 83,500 tonnes of scrap metal have been removed, and 4.8 million m² of land have been cleared.

To ensure continuous emissions control, a comprehensive environmental monitoring programme with air quality monitoring stations was launched last year.

In corporate governance and transparency, Nornickel continues to adhere to high standards. The Company's Board of Directors is well-balanced in terms of independent director participation (46%) and gender diversity (31% women), which facilitates decision-making that considers the interests of multiple stakeholders. Nornickel also plans to promote scientific volunteering among its employees.

ABOUT THE REPORT

The Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with Russian requirements and international standards, including the pilot application of the GRI 14: Mining Sector 2024 standard and the recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). The report also early adopts the latest version of the SASB Metals and Mining standard, confirming the Company's proactive approach towards implementing IFRS S1 and S2.
