Zabaykalsky Division
The Trans-Baikal Division comprises GRK Bystrinskoye (Bystrinsky GOK), Nornickel’s 50.01%-owned subsidiary. Bystrinsky GOK came online in 2019, ramping up to design capacity in 2020. Located in the Gazimuro-Zavodsky District of the Zabaykalsky Region, this is the largest greenfield project in the Russian metals industry.
The Trans-Baikal Division mines gold-iron-copper ores of the Bystrinskoye deposit, 16 km east of Gazimursky Zavod. Nornickel also holds licences to explore the adjacent Bystrinsko-Shirinskoye deposit, as well as the Zapadno-Shakhtaminskaya and Tsentralno-Shakhtaminskaya areas.
The mined ores are processed at Bystrinsky Concentrator into copper, iron ore, and gold concentrates.
Copper and iron ore concentrates are sold via third parties, while gold concentrates are further processed at the Polar Division.
